ORLANDO, Fla. —As part of the awards program prior to PestWorld’s Thursday general session, Lanny Allgood was recognized as NPMA’s Committee Chair of the Year, while NPMA’s Committee of the Year was the associations Super Committee.

Allgood provided exemplary leadership and guidance to NPMA's Bylaws Committee by guiding the process of a complete overhaul of NPMA’s governing documents leading toward the redrafting of the NPMA Bylaws and a repeal of its Constitution. His goals were to respect the 80-year foundation of the association while ensuring that NPMA had the governance structure in place to operate with a framework for current day best practices for non-profit organizations.
Said NPMA President-Elect Russ Ives, “Lanny drew upon his own legal training, saving NPMA thousands of dollars in legal fees and he contributed more time to the overhaul of NPMA’s bylaws in a three or four month period than most volunteers are asked to spend in a whole year’s worth of activities.”
Allgood was not able to attend the awards presentation but Allgood’s Chuck Tindol accepted the award in his absence.
Ives then announced that NPMA’s Committee of the Year was the Super Committee. This committee is comprised of the committee chairs from every NPMA committee. They work together to ensure committees are working in concert with each other and they identify and respond to issues that are too big for any one committee.

“This group of individuals helped spawned some of NPMA’s biggest accomplishments this year – including its Pollinator Health and Recruitment initiatives. Through their leadership and dedication of time, this group has demonstrated what an association can truly do to move an industry forward,” said Ives.
