FAIRFAX, Va. - The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is seeking a staff entomologist/technical director to join its team. Reporting to the senior vice president, the staff entomologist/technical director is an integral part of providing technical services to association members. The position includes the following responsibilities:
· Answering inquiries by pest management companies on topics ranging from insect identification to operations assistance
· Writing for NPMA publications such as ePestWorld, PestWorld, and others
· Coordinating development of new educational materials
· Keeping informed of industry trends and communicating them to members
· Presenting at industry meetings
· Representing the industry at external meetings
· Developing creative new ideas and strategies for NPMA to serve its members
· Ability to handle multiple tasks
· Ability to travel up to 20%
Successful candidates will possess a degree or advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in entomology or a science related to pest management and must be well versed in the field of entomology and structural pest management. Recent graduates are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the pest management industry.
