Recent incidents involving structural fumigants in the Caribbean and Florida have resulted in increased scrutiny of the industry. NPMA continuously supports efforts to strengthen the professionalism of the pest management industry. In an effort to do so, NPMA has established a process to identify issues and discuss ways that NPMA members, and the broader industry, can ensure enhanced stewardship of fumigants that will result in the ability to continue to use these vital tools now and in the future.
To help in this stewardship initiative, NPMA has developed a short questionnaire in which the association is asking for your feedback on an initial set of questions, and possible strategies to address key issues in the structural and commodity fumigation industry The fumigation stakeholder questionnaire responses will be held in strict confidence and will only be compiled in aggregate and shared without attribution, and serve as the foundation for discussion by the NPMA Fumigation Committee during NPMA’s Structural Fumigation Stewardship Consensus-Building Process.
NPMA anticipates this questionnaire will require about 15 minutes to complete. All fumigation industry stakeholders (including registrants, distributors, applicators and regulators) are strongly encouraged to complete this questionnaire online by February 10, 2016 so that your ideas and opinions are taken into consideration during this process. If you would like assistance with completing this survey or have question pertaining to the process please contact Jim Fredericks at jfredericks@pestworld.org.
