Fairfax, Va. — Pest management professionals from across the world gathered in Nashville, Tenn., Oct. 14-17 for PestWorld 2005, the National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA) annual convention and exposition. Final attendance figures totaled 3,000 attendees, including 350 international delegates representing 56 countries.

PestWorld 2005 kicked off with a performance by the Mike Snider Band and came to a close with bluegrass entertainment by Grammy Award winner Ricky Skaggs.

During the four-day conference, PestWorld 2005 offered more than 75 educational sessions, including a Technician Workshop, an all-day Research Symposium, and keynote addresses from former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge and Dr. Bob Arnot. This year’s exposition featured 150 exhibiting companies.

“PestWorld continues to increase in value as an industry resource,” said Rob Lederer, NPMA executive vice president. “From the tradeshow floor to the educational sessions, each year we see increased traffic and a stronger industry participation, which was evident by the number of suppliers launching their new products at PestWorld.”

As part of DuPont’s sponsorship of the Internet Café at PestWorld, a Dell laptop was awarded to Joseph Rotella, owner of Rotella Pest Management in Plattsburgh, NY. His entry was selected at random from PMP’s who registered to win via the Internet Café.

This year, NPMA is offering a new benefit to members and attendees with over 100 PestWorld pictures available online. Images can be downloaded at no charge. Click here to view the NPMA Photo Gallery.
