FAIRFAX, Va. — The National Pest Management Association showed off its new headquarters to kick off the 2005 Legislative Day program Sunday.

NPMA has been operating out of its new headquarters, which is located in Fairfax, Va., after the association, in cooperation with is board of directors, sold its 22-year-old headquarters in Dunn Loring, Va., in November. Two major factors went into NPMA’s decision to relocate its headquarters: 1) The building was deteriorating and would require significant renovations in the future, and 2) NPMA’s Dunn Loring neighbor was expanding and made the association an attractive offer.

The Fairfax location is meant to be a temporary location. The long-term plan of the association is to either purchase a newer building that meets the specific needs of the association or buy land and build a new building.

Legislative Day is an opportunity for pest management professionals to lobby their state and local representatives to support “smart” pesticide issues. In addition, attendees will hear presentations from a lineup that includes media political figures Tucker Carlson and James Carville, as well as former Pentagon Spokesperson Torie Clarke and Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace.
