NEW YORK - New York City Council on April 25 approved legislation that requires landlords to disclose bedbug infestations in their buildings, through postings in the building or notices given to tenants with their leases. The legislation passed by a vote of 44-5.
As reported by the New York Daily News, landlords also have to report discovering the bugs to the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, which will publish the information on its website.
