The NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene has rolled out a web portal where anyone can track the rats.
The Rat Information Portal or RIP maps out blocks with the worst rat infestations and shows users the history of infestations in buildings and neighborhoods.
Residents can get ideas about a coordinated rat control effort in their neighborhood.
Visitors can also generate maps of neighborhood rat inspection data. It's color coded with red showing the worst problems.
The site also offers to teach the steps for finding evidence of rats on a property and how to deal with them.
