NYSPMA, LIPCA Join Forces To Improve Lobbying Efforts

The New York State Pest Management Association and the Long Island Pest Control Association are sharing the lobbying costs to protect common interests in the New York State Legislature.

Craig Thomas, president of the New York State Pest Management Association (NYSPMA) and Jim Langford, president of the Long Island Pest Control Association (LIPCA) announced that both organizations are sharing the lobbying costs to protect common interests in the New York State Legislature.

The New York State Legislature concluded its regular session at the end of June. During this past session there were 89 bills introduced that could have directly affected the pest management industry. Craig Thomas credits Jim Langford and the LIPCA board of directors for recognizing the importance of speaking with one voice to our law makers who can shape and control our future. This year alone a sizeable percentage of the NYSPMA’s lobbying budget went to representatives from both Long Island and New York City.

Both Thomas and Langford underlined the need for unity and stated that strength in numbers will not only benefit the interests of both associations, but all of the structural pest management professionals in the entire state. NY City and all pest management professionals throughout the state are encouraged to contribute to the NYSPMA PAC fund where all monies raised go directly to our lobbying efforts.
