LOS GATOS, Calif. — Phillip Olavarri, founder and long-time owner of Killroy Pest Control, Campbell, Calif., passed away in April at age 97.
Phil founded Killroy Pest Control of Campbell in 1956 and proudly became a member of numerous industry associations. He developed a love of Campbell and was active in the Campbell Chamber of Commerce for decades. He was honored as Citizen of the Year in 1986 and was involved in Campbell's Prune Festival since its inception. In recent months, he remained active in the Optimist Club and the SIRs.
Prior to starting up Killroy Pest Control, Phil was a decorated WWII veteran, having flown more than 50 missions as B-17 pilot. Following his military service, Phil met and married Norma and the couple celebrated 67 years of marriage last September.
