LIBERTY, MO — Pest Control Operators of California (PCOC) announced the winners of the 14th annual Fumigation Banner Bonanza Contest, sponsored by Douglas Products and Vikane gas fumigant. The contest recognizes the promotion of structural fumigation through job site signage. This year, there were a record 72 banner entries.
BugOut of Anaheim, Calif, won first place honors. The judging panel commented the winning banner was simple and interesting and featured a creative, easy-to-read logo.
In second place was Knockout Pest Control & Termite of Southern California, with their boxing gloves at the forefront. The judges said they liked the banner’s efficient messaging. Tiger Termite Control of Southern California was awarded third place.
Participating fumigation and pest management companies submitted photos of their banners, which included their business name, logo and contact information. A panel of professional communications specialists judged the banners based upon readability from a distance, professionalism, visual impact and attractiveness. Pest control companies with winning banners were awarded prizes in the following amounts: first place, $1,250; second, $1,000; and third, $500.
“We are pleased once again to sponsor PCOC’s banner contest and have a record number of entries,” said Heather Kern, commercial leader for Douglas Products, manufacturer of Vikane. “Structural fumigation is an important service in California, and job site banners are an effective way for companies to reach homeowners.”
