SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. — Pest Control Operators of California held its annual Legislative Days, April 25-26, 2006 in Sacramento, Calif. The event provided industry leaders the opportunity to meet with legislators and promote industry issues.

PCOC is the sponsor of AB 87 (Bermudez) Trapping Licenses: exemptions and SB 230 (Figueroa) Structural Fumigation Enforcement Program. AB 87 would exempt structural pest control licensees from the licensing requirement for trapping mammals. SB 230 would extend the current Fumigation Enforcement Program (in Los Angeles and Orange counties) currently set to expire on July 1, 2006.

In an effort to build support for the legislative days, Target Specialty Products sponsored the registration fee for one representative from the PCOC’s 20 districts. More than 100 pest management professionals participated this year.
