PCT, Syngenta Launch Crown Awards

The comprehensive program honors the industry’s leading service companies, pest management professionals, service technicians and technical directors under a single brand.

Fla

CLEVELAND, Ohio – PCT magazine and Syngenta Professional Products recently expanded their popular Leadership Awards program to include recognition of the industry’s leading service companies, pest management professionals, service technicians, and technical directors under a single brand. Called the Crown Awards, the comprehensive awards program, which will be conducted on an annual basis, will recognize industry leadership and market excellence in four distinct categories:

Leadership Awards: Now in its 17th year, the PCT/Syngenta Professional Products Leadership Awards spotlight individuals who have contributed positively to the growth and development of the structural pest control industry, as well as established strong ties with fellow business leaders and customers in their communities. As in the past, this year’s winners will be honored at the National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA) PestWorld Conference in Nashville, Tenn. in October, and featured in a special 13th issue of PCT magazine that will be “room-dropped” at the convention.

Best-In-Class Customer Service Awards: One small, one mid-sized and one large company that provide exceptional customer service will be honored at NPMA Academy in Phoenix, Ariz. in July and featured in the pages of PCT magazine. A distinguished panel of judges that includes Phil Cooper, president of Cooper Pest Solutions and author of What +How = Wow; Norm Ehmann, retired, Univar; and Dr. George Rambo, president, GR Consulting Services, will select the winners of this new awards program. Nominations for this year's awards are still being accepted. Click here to nominate your company online.

Technician of the Year Awards: One of the most eagerly anticipated award categories is the Technician of the Year Awards. This award will honor the industry’s leading service technicians in three categories: Commercial Technician of the Year, Residential Technician of the Year, and Termite Technician of the Year. The winners will be profiled in a special 16-page editorial supplement in the December issue of PCT magazine and honored at the NPMA Legislative Day in Washington, D.C. in February. (Nominations are still being accepted for the 2005 awards here.)

Technical Excellence Award: PCT magazine and Syngenta Professional Products will recognize one of the industry’s leading technical directors in the spring of 2006. The winner will be selected based on his or her contributions to the field of urban entomology.

“Syngenta Professional Products is committed to recognizing excellence in all areas of the category,” said Ashish Malik, Business Head, Professional Pest Management, Syngenta. “Through the Crown Awards, we hope to inspire increased dedication and commitment to the innovation and service that the industry is known for.”

“We’re excited about the expansion of our partnership with Syngenta Professional Products to include a Best-in-Class Customer Service Awards and Technical Excellence Award, complementing our existing programs under a single brand – the Crown Awards,” added Dan Moreland, publisher, PCT Media Group. “As a result, we’re now able to offer recognition of industry leaders across virtually all segments of the pest management industry.”
