LUBBOCK, Texas — If there is an upside to the heat, it's less bugs. Our record temperatures have made it almost impossible for some populations to grow.
Mosquitoes, in particular are thirsting for water and simply not hatching their eggs because of that. This is good news, especially when we're talking about a potentially deadly virus we usually see this time of the year - West Nile Virus.
Right about now we usually see those creepy, crawly critters. Tim Gafford with Gafford Pest Control says the lack of moisture has depleted some populations.
