PHILADELPHIA – FMC Professional Solutions recently named Catherine Bernard product manager for the company’s pest market segment.
A Pennsylvania native who spent the last five years living in France, Bernard holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University. She began her career with Rhodia, a specialty chemicals company, formerly known as Rhone Poulenc. While there, she held various positions including engineering, purchasing, supply chain management and marketing.
After moving to Lyon, France in 2006, Bernard completed an MBA from Ecole de management de Lyon. Most recently, she was a brand communication and product manager for Bayer Environmental Science in Lyon, in the European consumer products group. In that capacity, she launched a range of natural products for the home and garden market, including insecticides, fungicides and herbicides.
“Catherine’s background in chemical engineering and product line management dovetails perfectly with her pest product management responsibilities at FMC,” said Rick Ekins, marketing manager for FMC Professional Solutions. “Her skill set is critically important as FMC continues to build an impressive pest product portfolio. She will be a valuable addition to our marketing team.”
In her new role, Bernard will manage all marketing activities for FMC’s line of pest management products. She resides in West Windsor, N.J., with her husband, Vincent, and two sons, ages six and three.
