AMBLER, Penn. — Fox 29’s “Good Day Philadelphia” program interviewed Gary Marcucci of Residex, which hosted a bed bug symposium on Dec. 13. As part of the news coverage, the program also featured Allergy Technologies’ ActiveGuard Mattress Liners as a local manufacturer in the pest control industry focusing on bed bugs and as a tool for pest management professionals.
Allergy Technologies says it has sold thousands of its recently released ActiveGuard mattress liners. The liners are designed as a revolutionary alternative to encasements, being billed as thin, comfortable and odorless liners that kill bed bugs within 72 hours.
The liners, for both mattresses and box springs, are described as a proactive step in any comprehensive bed bug control program. According to Allergy Technologies, the impregnated liners can be used in all residential applications. The company also says ActiveGuard is a preventative standalone tool that continues to kill newly introduced bed bugs.
According to the company, ActiveGuard mattress liners have been lab and field tested on a variety of bed bug strains by research entomologists. The liners need no airborne sprays or powders and no maintenance is required, the company says.
Allergy Technologies is a subsidiary of A. Carey Co. The company says a portion of all ActiveGuard proceeds go to help fund inner-city homeless and women’s shelters and asthma clinics.
