In attendance were several Pennsylvania lawn care and landscape businesses, as well as Jim Martin, current President of the Professional Landcare Network, Tanya Tolpegin, CEO of PLANET, and Tom Shotzbarger, General Manager of Tomlinson Bomberger and current president of the Lawn Care Association of Pennsylvania.
PLANET is a green industry association that promotes professionalism and supports their 4,200 members with testing for certifications, marketing, training and educational tools. Their slogan is “We create and maintain your quality of life in your community.”
Discussions focused on the following issues:

- Inaccurate reporting of the environmental effects of treating lawns and landscapes
- Creating a positive image for lawn care and landscape businesses
- Interacting with legislators, locally and nationally on issues that affect the green industry
- Human resource issues
- Growing the green industry workforce
- Recognition of professional competence for lawn care and landscape businesses in the marketplace
