“We are thrilled to be working with Metrolina Pest Control Association and Premise Termite Control” says Jennifer Coye, Executive Director of the Interfaith Hospitality Network of York County. “Our family center is a vital part of this organization, and it is a relief to know that termites won’t take that away from us.”
The Interfaith Hospitality Network of York County has been providing shelter, meals and support services to families without homes since 1999. At the family center, families are able to have a homelike environment where they can shower, do laundry, make necessary phone calls, receive mail, seek employment and educational opportunities, and receive case management services to connect them with other area agencies. Over one hundred networks have been established since IHN’s national founding in 1986, helping eighty percent of guest families provide permanent or transitional housing.
Hope, Inc. has provided hope and local crisis assistance ministry to residents of the greater Rock Hill area since 1975. The organization provides underprivileged families with food, transportation, utilities, medicine, heating and other needs. Hope, Inc. has 47 volunteers working on nearly 3,000 cases annually and receives donations of food and money from individuals and churches in the community.
“We are so grateful for this donation of time and service,” says Harold “Bo” Coleman, a founder and representative of Hope, Inc. “Now we can continue our mission without termites getting in the way.”
Metrolina Pest Control Association of Rock Hill will be treating the structure with Premise for Eastern subterranean termites. Backed by Bayer, Premise insecticide, a non-repellent termiticide, provides effective, long-lasting control and has protected more than one million U.S. homes. Imidacloprid, the active ingredient in Premise, is the most widely used insecticide in the world.
“These organizations do so much for the community,” says Tom Hardin of Metrolina Pest Control Association. “We wanted to treat the IHN and Hope, Inc. buildings with a product that would work right away and has long-lasting effects to alleviate any fears of further structural damage due to termites.”
“This is a great opportunity to help organizations that truly give back to those in need,” says Jon Stewart, Bayer Environmental Science representative. “By teaming up with Metrolina Pest Control Association, based in Rock Hill, SC, we hope that that the treatment will allow the space to serve the community for years to come.”
