LONG BEACH, Calif. – A GoFundMe page was set up to support Cory Shedden, manager at On Point Pest Control & Exterminating, Long Beach, Calif., who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and is undergoing emergency colorectal surgery to halt the cancer progression.
Shedden started his pest control journey in 2007 and brings 15 years of expertise to Orange and Los Angeles counties.
Chaz Estrada, vice president of marketing at True Heat Solutions, set up the support page and said with Shedden's dedicated service to the pest control industry, it's now time for the industry to support and serve his family during this difficult time.
"He skillfully manages a team of three and provides exceptional service in general pest, rodent, and termite control," Estrada said. "His commitment to his profession earned him the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of the clients he serves."
Shedden shares three children – Isabel (16), Maya (12) and two-year-old son, Jordan – with his wife Audrey.
Estrada said all donated funds will go directly toward relieving the financial burden caused by mounting medical bill.
"While remaining optimistic, there is a possibility that Cory may require chemotherapy after the operation," Estrada said. "The family is determined to make significant progress in expediting the medical procedures before the year's end, ensuring that Cory's maximum out-of-pocket is reached and costs are minimized."
