PCO Bookkeepers & M&A Specialists

The total U.S. William Blair/PCO Bookkeepers & M&A Specialists Pest Index increased 11 percent year-over-year in June 2025, above the long-term average index growth rate of 10 percent.

After normalizing for one more workday in June, the Pest Index increased 6 to 7 percent year-over-year. This result is below April and May Pest Index on a workday-adjusted basis.

William Blair Equity Researcher Tim Mulrooney notes that June was a more difficult month for companies in the Pest Index compared with Rollins.

“This aligns with our conversations with privately held pest control companies in the United States, some of which continue to face headwinds in digital leads,” he says. “Rollins’ multi-brand/multichannel approach may help explain some of this divergence in trends. However, we also believe a more sophisticated approach to digital marketing will be necessary to drive leads in the rapidly evolving landscape of generative AI, which is something that Rollins is hyper-focused on right now.”

Dan Gordon, managing member of PCO Bookkeepers & M&A Specialists, adds, “This result is further evidence that pest management professionals will have to be as smart and nimble as ever when it comes to marketing and selling their services in the age of AI.”
