FAIRFAX, Va. - The Pest Management Foundation announced the availability of up to five scholarships. The Foundation also announced the availability of up to $30,000 for pest management industry-related research.
AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS
The Pest Management Foundation Scholarship Program will award up to five scholarships of up to $2,000 each, to outstanding students at accredited entomology programs at U.S. colleges or universities. In return, scholarship recipients will be asked to provide a letter explaining how the scholarship has helped them in their academic and research endeavors.
Scholarship Eligibility. Currently enrolled undergraduate (junior or senior year) or graduate students majoring in entomology and focused on urban pest management are eligible. Students must have completed at least two semesters of study with at least one year remaining before graduation. Applicants must be full time students in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or better on 4.0 scale). Only one scholarship will be awarded per college or university each year.

The Pest Management Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with the National Pest Management Association, the industry's only national trade group. The Foundation has been in existence for more than 30 years and was originally named the Buettner Pest Control Foundation in honor of William O. SOLICITATION FOR RESEARCH PROPOSALS
The Pest Management Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission and purpose is to advance the pest management industry through education, research, and outreach. The Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of up to $30,000 for pest management industry-related research. The Foundation may choose to fund one or more projects; however, the Foundation reserves the right to decline to fund any of the proposed submissions.
Submission Requirements. Each submission should include a 1-2 page preliminary written proposal. Applicability to professional pest control and specific benefits to the pest management industry should be clearly articulated in the preliminary proposal. Formatting of the submission is flexible, except that submissions should not exceed 2 pages.
• Stated benefits that the pest management industry will reap from the research, such as measurable evidence of the effectiveness of the industry’s services, enhanced employee productivity, reduced operational costs, identification of new, profitable services, or insights into pest biology or behavior.
Based on the review of the preliminary proposals, selected projects will be invited to submit additional comprehensive proposals, including detailed budget and methods descriptions.
