P.E.S.T. Relief International Provides Mattresses to Recovery Program

P.E.S.T. Relief International has partnered with Ashley Furniture’s Hope to Dream Program to provide new mattresses for the children of Abba House. This 18-month addiction recovery program for women allows for children to be reunited with their mothers after 12 months of counseling, therapy, and healing. At that time, the children come to live with their mom until she graduates from the program.  The beds were delivered just in time to give the children a good night’s rest when starting school.

Through the Hope to Dream program, P.E.S.T. Relief International placed 10 memory foam mattresses throughout three homes on the property.  In addition, 10 more mattresses were reserved to launch a program for mothers who graduate from the program.  Upon returning home, their child will receive a bed, mattress, pillow, sheets and comforter for a new comfy place to sleep while transitioning back into their new life.

Glenda Lehmberg with C.P.C.O. of Georgia and Andrea Hancock spent a Friday morning organizing the donations of the old mattresses (which were sent to The Place of Forsyth County for families in need) and overseeing the installation of the new mattresses.   They even took some time to spruce up the bathrooms in one of the houses with new bath mats and coordinating shower curtain.

“These mattresses will definitely help us and our children rest more soundly and. It definitely boosts our moral.  It is great to feel valued- especially in recovery, “shares one of the residents in the program.  Another wrote, “It touches my heart that people I don’t even know care for us enough to come into our lives and want good for us.  We are so blessed.  I hope to spread this to others”
