KINGSTON, N.Y. - Pestmaster Services of the Hudson Valley, Kingston, N.Y., held a donation drop-off Saturday to benefit the victims of the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti. The Pestmaster team was assisted by Kingston High School students Paul Alley Jr. and Melida Dessalines, and by Bailey Middle school 7th grader Patrick Carroll. Dessalines has members of her family in Haiti and they have not heard from them, so she took decided to help in any way she could.
The fundraising effort raised $2,320 and several bags of clothes in just 4 hours. The donations are scheduled to be taken to the Red Cross on Tuesday and will be requested to use the funds for the Haiti earthquake victims.
Paul Alley, president of Pestmaster Services of the Hudson Valley, said, “It is always a pleasure to see the community come together by donating money and goods especially after such a difficult year financially. I want to thank all the drivers on Lucas Ave from Saturday morning that dug deep from not just the pockets but their hearts and truly gave what they could.”
