Textor was raised in Toledo, Ohio, attended the University of Toledo and worked at Champion Spark Plug Company for more than 24 years. At Champion he held many management positions including clerical, supervisory, scheduling and materials management. Textor left Champion in 1996, to accept a director of production position at International Brake Industries, Inc. in Lima, Ohio, where he worked for 10 years before resigning his position to move to Florida.
