PestWest Introduces Mad Hatter Lamp Recycling Program

SARASOTA, Fla. —The PestWest Mad Hatter lamp recycling program is a complete prepaid box system that promotes pest management professionals' environmental stewardship 'green' programs and offers complete compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.

The Mad Hatter lamp recycling program allows PMPs to purchase recycling services based on their individual needs, enabling pest control companies to recycle ultraviolet lamps in both large and small quantities with the minimum of fuss and cost using the complete return box service.

Due to the presence of Mercury in UV lamps used in flying insect management systems, PestWest® is strongly encouraging all pest management professionals to recycle and properly dispose of UV lamps. Depending on state regulations disposing of spent lamps in a dumpster or municipal landfill is no longer an option and is levied with a hefty fine.

The PestWest Mad Hatter lamp recycling program is a simple process – call, fill, seal and ship. Once the lamps are recycled a certificate of recycling will be mailed to participating PCOs.
