Orlando, Fla. — More than 100 NPMA PestWorld attendees participated in the fifth annual Professional Women in Pest Management 5K Fun Run/Walk this morning around the property of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort.
The event is designed to raise funds and awareness for the best cancer movement, celebrate breast cancer survivorship and honor those who lost their battle with the disease. PWIPM this year raised more than $5,000 that will be contributed to the Avon Foundation for Women.
PWIPM has raised more than $25,000 in the five years it has hosted the event.
Peter Comis, NuVue Business Solutions, was the first male to cross the finish line. Jane Treleven of Sprague Pest Solutions was the first female.
The 5K Fun Run/Walk was sponsored by Arrow Exterminators, Bayer, Dow AgroSciences, Gardex, PestWest, Pest Management Systems Inc., Service Pro and Terminix.
In its 50-year history, the Avon Foundation has affected the lives of millions of women around the world.
