With its first full calendar year and more than 62 episodes in the books, the PMP Industry Insiders podcast team is reflecting on 2021 and looking to make an even bigger impact in 2022.
“If you listen to the podcast, you know we’re always trying to put ourselves in the shoes of pest control and lawn care company owners to get the answers to the questions they’re asking,” says PMP Industry Insiders co-host Donnie Shelton, owner of Triangle Home Services and president of Coalmarch. “In the new year, we’re looking forward to bringing on even bigger guests from inside and outside the industry, as well as going in depth on topics that are top-of-mind for operators.”
Shelton and Dan Gordon, managing member of PCO Bookkeepers and PCO M&A Specialists, created the podcast in August 2020 as a spin-off from a COVID-19 pandemic webinar series they produced earlier that year. The momentum has only grown since then.
In 2021, the podcast had nearly 80,000 listens; launched a standalone website; and analyzed breaking news events, including the blockbuster WorkWave/Real Green Systems acquisition in June and the Rentokil/Terminix deal in December.
The show also featured legendary guests, such as Michael E. Gerber, author of “The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It.”
“We get calls, texts and emails all the time telling us how useful the podcast is,” Gordon says. “That’s our goal: To help and give back to the industry that’s given us so much. In 2022, stay tuned for even more episodes on sales, marketing, operations, finance, technology, and other timely topics.”
