Pointe Pest Control Treating Low-Income Apartments for Charity Project

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. – Pointe Pest Control announced the 2016 edition of its annual charitable project known as “Take a Bite Out of the Holidays.” This year the company is embracing an ambitious project at the 28-unit Opportunity Hall Apartment complex, located in Spokane Valley, Washington. 

The low-income housing complex and its residents are plagued with a bed bug infestation. Pointe Pest Control will treat the common room gathering space on Monday, Dec. 19, so the residents have a place to gather on Tuesday, Dec. 20, while all 28 units are individually treated. The goal is to give the residents a respite from the stress of their present condition and brighten their holidays with cheer and good will.

To date, Pointe Pest Control has acquired the assistance of several businesses, charitable
organizations and individuals, who will be providing everything from lunch the day of treatment, to furniture, linens, toiletries, bedding encasements, gift cards, laundry services, waste disposal services and cleaning. The volunteers include Pointe Pest Control and its employees, Sunshine Recycling, Cozzetto Laundry, Goodwill, Pizza Pipeline, Active Guard, Rockwell Lab, MGK, Bayer Crop Science, NBS Promos and Catholic Charities.

“We heard about this unfortunate set of circumstances and want to bring joy and good will to what could have been a dismal holiday season for a group of Spokane Valley residents,” said Jacob Borg, president of Pointe Pest Control.
