FAIRFAX, Va. — The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), which serves as the consumer marketing and public outreach arm of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), recently released its second season of Bug Battles.
The return of Bug Battles comes after consumers showed particular interest in the series’ first season in 2022, which highlighted a variety of pests including stinging insects, bed bugs, ticks and termites, to name a few.
Season one’s content was displayed to digital users more than 920,000 times.
The animated video project seeks to teach consumers about various pests’ abilities, habits and threats through a new lens by putting a fun, video game-inspired twist on pest education and prevention.
With the launch of the new season, consumers can sit back and watch engaging match-ups of seemingly similar pests and see which will be declared the ultimate Bug Battles champion.
“Bug Battles is back by popular demand, and we’re thrilled to provide the public with even more educational tools on pests they’re likely to encounter in their homes and while spending time outdoors,“ said Jim Fredericks, executive director of PPMA. “At our core, we’re committed to ensuring today’s consumer is equipped with need-to-know knowledge about the property and health threats posed by pests as well as the significance of working with a qualified pest control professional, and it’s through interactive resources like Bug Battles that we can achieve that goal.”
With the sequel, PPMA placed an innovative twist on the new, hypothetical battles:
- Episode One- Arachnid Edition: Brown Recluse vs. Black Widow
- Episode Two- Bloodsuckers Edition: Bed Bug vs. Mosquito
- Episode Three- Crawlers Edition: Silverfish vs. Earwig
New episodes can be found on the NPMA site as well as the organization’s YouTube page.
