RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.– Premise® Termite Control and TopChoice® Fire Ant Control teamed up to sponsor a competitor in this year’s 26th Annual BellSouth Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament in Sisters Creek Park, Fla.

This year, spectators enjoyed watching nearly 1,000 boats fish the weeklong event from the fire ant-treated marina, courtesy of TopChoice insecticide for the second year in a row. Seen on the high seas was Randy Nader, president of Nader’s Pest Raiders, in a 33-foot tournament edition boat sponsored by Premise and TopChoice.

Nader sank the competition with a second place win in the overall VIP Tournament out of 125 boats. He had another big win placing seventh overall in the tournament. “I was thrilled to be a part of the tournament,” says Nader. “Not only did I get to enjoy the competition, but we were able to raise awareness for homeowners on combating fire ants and termites in the southern states.”

“We were so grateful to have Nader’s Pest Raiders as a part of this year’s tournament,” says Mike Wheeler, executive director, Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament and Festival. “We had a great time working with the Bayer ES team and spreading the word about pest control in the South.”

Founded in 1981, the annual Kingfish Tournament is a long-standing tradition for residents of the Jacksonville area, where anglers compete for more than $500,000 in prizes. Held July 17-26, the event hosts both adult and junior anglers at the mouth of the St. Johns River where fishermen spend the week trying to hook the biggest kingfish. Since its inception, the popularity and success of the BellSouth Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament has spawned similar tournaments on both the east and west coasts of Florida as well as Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi.
