President Bush Taps Ex-ServiceMaster Exec Preston to Lead HUD

Steven Preston, former executive vice president of ServiceMaster, was nominated to become Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his administration.

The President intends to nominate Steven C. Preston, of Illinois, to be Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Mr. Preston currently serves as Administrator of the Small Business Administration. Prior to this, he served as Executive Vice President at the ServiceMaster Company. Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer of First Data Corporation as well as Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Preston received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
