Promotions Announced at Bell

Daniel De Poli was promoted to regional sales manager for Bell Laboratories; new Bell Technical Representative Rod Smith takes over Florida territory.

MADISON, Wis. — Daniel De Poli has been promoted to the newly created position of regional sales manager for the western United States. De Poli has worked as a technical sales representative for Bell in the southern U.S. and Caribbean since 2002.

De Poli will provide sales management to Bell representatives in states west of the Mississippi River and in Florida. Fluent in Spanish, he will also continue to oversee Bell product distribution in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

De Poli will relocate to Dallas.

Rod Smith, who joined Bell in September, will assume De Poli’s technical sales responsibilities to distributors and pest management professionals in Florida. He will work closely with Bell distributors, assisting them in the marketing and use of Bell products, as well as setting up training programs for their sales staff and local technicians. He will provide technical assistance on pest control strategies, including consulting with PCOs at rodent infestation sites. Smith also represents Bell at industry trade shows.
Smith began his sales career in the chemical industry as a distributor sales representative for Industrial Chemicals in Birmingham, Ala., after earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Florida, Tampa, in 1995.

In 1998, he became an account manager for Allied Universal Corp., the largest manufacturer of industrial-strength sodium hypochlorite (bleach) in the U.S. The first seven of his nine years with Allied were spent in Memphis, Tenn., where he directed the day-to-day business development, account management and long-term sales growth in a five-state area. In 2002 and 2005, he was honored as salesman of the year for achieving outstanding sales goals and expanding market share. He was promoted to Orlando in 2005, and is based there.

Smith is looking forward to representing Bell in Florida. “What drew me to Bell was its reputation for a solid product line, its positive company culture and great customer service,” he said. “I’m eager to work with my distributors to help meet the needs of their customers.”
