Phoenix, Ariz. — About 100 NPMA PestWord attendees participated in the Professional Women in Pest Management 5K Fun Run/Walk this morning in a historic area of downtown Phoenix, Ariz.
The event is designed to raise funds and awareness for the best cancer movement, celebrate breast cancer survivorship and honor those who lost their battle with the disease. PWIPM has established a fundraising goal of $10,000 that will be contributed to the Avon Foundation for Women.
“This event is a great way to start a convention — doing something for a good cause,” said NPMA’s Dominique Stumpf, vice president of conventions and professional development.
Mickey Nolen, Nozzle Nolen Pest Solutions, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Steve Martin, Trutech, Marietta, Ga., came in first place, with a time of about 23 minutes.
The 5K Fun Run/Walk was sponsored by Arrow Exterminators, Dow AgroSciences, Forshaw Distribution, FMC, Gardex, PestWest PMi and Terminix.
