PWIPM Announces First-Ever Fun Run/Walk

Scheduled for Oct. 20 at PestWorld, the event raises money and awareness for the breast cancer movement.

FAIRFAX, Va. - On Wednesday, October 20, in conjunction with PestWorld 2010, the first-ever Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM) Fun Run/Walk will take place in Honolulu, Hawaii.

This event, a 5K run/walk, is designed to raise funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrate breast cancer survivorship, and honor those who lost their battle with the disease.  PWIPM has established a fundraising goal of $5,000 that will be contributed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the global leader of the breast cancer movement.

“Breast cancer has impacted many lives in one way or another,” stated PWIPM President Jennifer Leggett.  “Everyone has a story to share and loved ones they have lost to breast cancer.  However, there is hope.  The mission of the PWIPM Fun Run/Walk is to unite the industry through this cause and bring hope and help to those who desperately need it.”
