FAIRFAX, Va. — The National Pest Management Association's (NPMA) affiliate organization Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM), is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2013 PWIPM Scholarship is Suzanne Wagner, Learning and Development Manager at Rentokil North America in Reading, Pennsylvania.
"As a female, I anticipate that women will expand the pest management industry roles they are in now, and also further expand into new roles. This bodes well for the industry as a whole, since women are well suited to serve in all areas within the field," said Wagner in her scholarship essay. "Women have a unique perspective and voice to add to the pest control conversation and I predict that their impact will grow as they expand their roles across the board."
"PWIPM is proud to award Suzanne with the 2013 scholarship," said PWIPM Chairwoman Marie Horner. "She is a fantastic candidate and it is rewarding to know that our organization is able to not only assist in advancing her career, but also to support the future generations of the pest management industry."
As the recipient of the annual scholarship, Wagner will receive funding to further her career, as well as a trip to Phoenix for PestWorld 2013. The scholarship will be awarded there at the Professional Women In Pest Management reception on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.
