The human population isn’t the only one growing in North Texas.
Rats are also finding North Texas a hospitable place to live and proliferate.
"It has been worse this year, and it’s not even rat season yet — it hasn’t gotten cold," said Allen Sanford, owner of A-1 Pest Control in Fort Worth. "We’re getting more calls this year and more people saying, 'I’m seeing rats in my yard.’ The problem is there’s plenty of food, plenty of water. It’s a good rat habitat out there."
But Sanford and others say this isn’t an epidemic or an outbreak. Instead, the rodent population is simply growing.
