INDIANAPOLIS – Dow AgroSciences announces a new quarterly monitoring label for Recruit™ IV termite bait. The new label will take effect on Jan. 1, 2006.

“Authorized Operators are already experiencing fast colony elimination with Recruit IV termite bait,” says John Kalthoff, marketing manager for the Sentricon System. “The new quarterly monitoring label will enable AOs to enjoy even greater flexibility with scheduling and managing accounts.”

Recruit IV provides proven colony elimination, using noviflumuron as its active ingredient. Recruit IV offers more colony elimination power because each Baitube™ device contains twice as much bait as Recruit III. Its unique bait matrix, Preferred Textured Cellulose (PTC), is in the form of small briquettes that readily absorb added moisture, which intensifies the palatability.

“We recognize that labor costs are a major expense for our Authorized Operators, and we set out to address that issue with this label change,” Kalthoff says. “If AOs take advantage of the new flexibility with this label, the same number of technicians may be able to visit more customers each quarter, and that can translate into increased profits. This is something Authorized Operators have been asking for, and we responded.”

For some, quarterly monitoring will offer the ability to place all of their baited Sentricon System sites on one monitoring schedule, or integrate Sentricon System visits with other pest control services.

“The majority of our services are on a quarterly basis. The new Recruit IV quarterly monitoring label will streamline our portfolio of pest control capabilities,” says Paul Felker, president of Bug Out Service in Jacksonville, Fla. “Technicians alone will be able to service a larger customer base and be more productive.”

Like the current label, the new quarterly monitoring label allows Authorized Operators to continue to bait auxiliary Sentricon stations at installation in areas where termite activity is suspected or conditions are conducive to termite presence.

Feedback obtained from Authorized Operators indicates that the Recruit IV quarterly monitoring label will be good for business. “The amount of research behind the effectiveness of Recruit IV termite bait, along with the enhanced bait matrix and amount of bait in each Baitube device, makes for a comfortable and confident transition to quarterly monitoring,” says Felker.
