HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — With a goal of educating the masses about the importance of pest control, Truly Nolen of America has officially re-designed its Web site, www.trulynolen.com, to serve as a teaching tool and a storyboard of the company’s own unique history.

In teaming with the DAS Group, a media communications company that specializes in Web site development, the updated Truly Nolen website now features an array of animated characters that bring color and fun to the website that were lacking before.

“Education of the public about pests has always been a key part of our overall message,” said Barry “The Bug Guy” Murray, Truly Nolen national spokesperson. “We wanted to expand our offerings to include ways to teach children about bugs while providing adults helpful tools for evaluating their own pest control needs.”

The Web site’s new features include: an animated entomologist tour; children’s bug-themed games such as Roach Run and Ladybug Lunch; bug jokes; bug-themed recipes; children’s bug experiments (i.e. How to Collect Insects from Your Lawn); a pest identifier portal that breaks insects down by size, color, description, active season and advice on how to treat; greeting cards with a spider picture and tagline such as “I was thinking of you while I was on the web”; and screen savers and computer wallpaper featuring the iconic yellow mouse car.

“Our mouse car and commercials are easily identifiable to the general public as well as important to our company’s unique history,” said Murray. “Therefore, another key element of the re-design was to be able to tell our history through pictures and video.”

With this in mind, the Web site now features a gallery of Truly Nolen’s trademark yellow mouse cars and yellow trucks which have helped showcase the company’s sense of humor and distinctive flair since 1961. In addition, the Trulywood section of the website features an assortment of company commercials through the years as well as media appearances by “The Bug Guy.”

Other new Web site features include a home scorecard where visitors can rate their pest control needs, ask the expert section featuring “The Bug Guy” and the ability to pay bills online.
