WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University will welcome attendees on site and also offer virtual options for the for87th Annual Purdue Pest Management Conference. This January, Purdue is looking forward to seeing everyone on campus for the traditional 3-day event. Presentations will begin at 8 a.m., on Monday morning in the Purdue Memorial Union North Ballroom, with a session on truck safety including how to respond to spills and emergencies with Fred Whitford of Purdue Pesticide Programs.
Purdue will kick off the onsite programming with Opening Ceremonies at 10:30am with Carrie Campbell, the Purdue Pest Management Conference Planning Committee Industry Chair and Mark VanderWerp from Rose Pest with his annual Year in Review. Following the Opening, Coby Schal of North Carolina State University will present the keynote presentation titled: "Pest Management and Pest Eradication" covering rebranding PMPS as public health professionals. Programming will continue in the afternoon, concluding with Bobby Corrigan's presentation, "Assessing Rodents vs. Inspecting for Rodents."
The Exhibit Hall Opening Reception will take place at 4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the South Ballroom of the Purdue Memorial Union. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and cash bar will be available to all conference attendees.
Tuesday morning, a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast will be offered in room 206 of Stewart Center. Programming on Tuesday will include bats, regulatory updates, and sessions on wood destroying organisms and fumigation. Complimentary boxed lunches will be served in the Exhibit Hall which will be open from 10:30am - 2:00pm.
Wednesday will feature session on electronic pest monitoring, food plant topics, bed bugs, cockroaches and backpack sprayers. Closing Ceremonies will take place at 3:45 p.m.; attendance anniversaries will be announced at this time.
