READING, Pa. — Gene White has joined Rentokil North America as regional technical director for the central markets, including Mexico.
White’s been involved in the pest control industry since 1981, most recently serving as director of training and education for Rose Pest Solutions, Troy, Mich. He has experience as a technician, sales consultant, supervisor, district manager and corporate trainer.
White’s professional activities include memberships in the Entomological Society of America and Pi Chi Omega professional pest management fraternity. He is currently the chair of the Purdue Entomology Development Council and a member of the Michigan Pest Management Associations’ education committee.
As education outreach coordinator for his former company, White created several programs for youth education. One program called “Incredible Edible Insects” is in its 20th year and is part of Cleveland Metro Parks “Bug City” and “Culinary Bugstitute” event. He also initiated a basic entomology learning program called “Bug Rodeo” presented to underprivileged and summer camp children in Detroit for the past 10 years.
Aside from these duties, White is a regular speaker for industry conferences as the Kentucky Short Course and Purdue Pest Management Conference. He also is an accomplished photographer whose works have appeared in the pages of PCT magazine and American Entomologist.
