In Memoriam: Don Resetar

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. — Don Resetar, longtime president of Pest Control Services and Environmental Protection Systems, and an active association member, passed away on Thursday, at age 80.

An outspoken industry advocate, Resetar was a member of Pi Chi Omega, the Antioch Chamber of Commerce, Northbrook Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Chicago Pest Management Alliance, NPMA, IPMA, and WPCA.

Varment Guard Vice President Gerry Wegner shared his thoughts on his friend and mentor, on Facebook. “I lost a good friend recently. Don Resetar was a fine mentor and a tremendous story teller. Don was a wealth of practical information on structural pest management and he helped to introduce me to the industry on a national level. Don could be controversial but I respected him for it. I will sorely miss him. National meetings just won't be the same without him.”

Resetar is survived by his wife of 52 years, Theresa "Terry"; children, Roxanne (Jimmy) Brown, William (Teresa) Resetar, Michelle Resetar-McDowell, and Melodie (Joe) Gliniewicz; his sister, Rebecca (Frank) Reilly; grandchildren, Cory Brown, Jennifer (Justin) Buchanan, Tyler Resetar, Casandra McDowell, Samantha McDowell, Joseph Gliniewicz, Donald “DJ” Gliniewicz, Jeffrey Gliniewicz, and David Gliniewicz; great-grandchildren, Autumn Whalen, Landon Ozbun, and Kaydance Resetar; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Resetar 1940-2013, and Robert Eric Resetar-Ogdon 1951-2013.

Funeral services with military honors will be held at 7PM Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL.
