SARASOTA, Fla. — Gary Riccio, sales service manager for Residex, Sarasota, Fla., retired from the company, after 35 years of service. His career in the pest control industry began in 1969 as a service technician. Working for Western Pest Services, Riccio was quickly promoted to supervisor and broadened his skill to include fumigation, which helped him to make his way to Florida and eventually to take part in Residex’s opening of their first warehouse in the sunshine state.
Riccio was honored recently at the Delaware Short Course. He started his career with Western in Delaware. Residex hosted a dinner with friends and co-workers from the north who all wished him well in his retirement. Riccio was honored again by Residex at an all-day retirement barbeque on his last official day of work – Feb. 27, followed by a retirement party for close family, friends, and co-workers.
In his retirement Riccio plans to pursue his passion by racing his antique sports car and will fill his days working on his race car and his wife’s Camaro. But don’t think you won’t see Riccio around — if you stop by the Residex office in Sarasota, you just may spot him helping out occasionally.
