EULESS, Texas - Texas Governor Rick Perry has appointed Richard Rogers, vice president of operations for Myers Pest & Termite Services, to the Texas Structural Pest Control Board for a term that will expire in 2009. The Texas Structural Pest Control Board develops criteria for licensing individuals and businesses in the structural pest control business. The appointment has been confirmed by the Texas Senate.
Rogers is a member of the Entomological Society of America and the American Registry of Professional Entomologists, and he has served as vice president of the United Pesticide Formulators and Distributors Association. Rogers is a former president of the Texas Pest Control Association, former vice president of the Dallas Pest Control Association and has served on the board of Pi Chi Omega Fraternity, an honorary fraternity of pest control professionals.
He received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in entomology from Oklahoma State University. Rogers is a registered sanitarian in Texas.
“I am honored to be appointed to such an important board by the governor,” said Rogers. “I look forward to serving with other professionals in our industry.”
