NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rockwell Labs Ltd has been certified as a business owned and controlled by a woman by the National Women Business Owners Corporation. The extensive certification process was developed by a group of more than 700 public and private sector individuals seeking to increase the ability of women business owners to compete for corporate and government contracts, and at the same time, to decrease the number of front operations participating in corporate and government outreach programs.
“I would have thought the process would be a ‘no-brainer’ in my case,” said Dr. Cisse Spragins, founder and CEO of Rockwell, “but the process was quite involved and the amount of documentation required to establish not only ownership but control was significant, and included a site visit.”
Spragins added, “The best way to get business is of course to provide high quality products and great service. However, over the years many of our PMP and distributor customers have asked us for this certification when they were bidding on certain corporate and government contracts, so we finally invested the time to go through the process.”
