TROY, Mich. — Troy-based Rose Pest Solutions brought its fifth annual Bug Rodeo to the young people of the Children’s Home of Detroit.

About 70 children from the organization learned about local wildlife from Rose Pest Solutions board certified entomologists and made their own insect collections at the July 17 event, which took place at Kensington Metropark in Milford.

Children enjoyed an “Intro to Entomology” course and competed in a “Bug Hunt.”

With the assistance of Rose Pest Solutions volunteers, the children assembled, examined and organized their own insect collections, with awards given to the hunters finding the most unusual bug, amassing the most insect species and locating the largest dragonfly, among others.
