CLEARWATER, Fla. — Lonnie Curd, an industry veteran of almost 30 years, has joined Safer Home Services as sales manager.

Curd previously worked with Safer Home Services Chairman Chuck Steinmetz and President Jim Swayne at Sears Authorized Termite & Pest Control.

Curd got his start in the industry at Orkin in the early 1980s after serving in the U.S. Navy. With Sears, he started as a sales technician and quickly rose through the ranks to manage branches in Georgia, Alabama, and Arizona. After Sears, Curd opened Pestech, a pest and termite company serving central Florida, and ran it for 12 years.

Curd’s experience in the pest control industry is truly worldwide in scope. In 2008, he began the first of his six tours in Iraq and Afghanistan as a vector control specialist for the U.S. Army and Special Forces. Curd’s sense of duty to his country and the men and women serving our country is one of the qualities the team at Safer admires in him. Always ready to lead the way, Curd has already had a very positive impact on the company.
