The winning entry was the commercial created by Bader Rutter & Associates, Milwaukee, Wis., to promote the Sentricon® Termite Colony Elimination System from Dow AgroSciences. Television and radio spots of “Destruction” are currently airing in key markets across the country as part of a consumer campaign for the Sentricon System.
Elisha Priebe, Dow AgroSciences communications manager for the company’s Pest Management Group, says the “Destruction” advertisement was created to help educate homeowners about the constant threat of subterranean termites and the significant property damage they can cause.
“The ‘Destruction’ advertisement is being run in key markets to coincide with termite swarming in numerous market areas,” Priebe says. “Our goal is to make homeowners aware that termites cause an estimated $5 billion in property damage each year and of the need to protect their properties. This year marks the 10th year that Dow AgroSciences has advertised to educate consumers about subterranean termites. We believe it is one of the reasons that the Sentricon System is the No.1 brand in termite protection.”
Priebe says the advertisement encourages homeowners to visit www.termiterisk.com to learn more about the risk subterranean termites pose and how the Sentricon System can eliminate the threat. Visitors to the Web site may request to be contacted by an Authorized Operator who installs and services the Sentricon System. The Pro-Comm Awards competition, sponsored by the Business Marketing Association, is the largest program of its kind and it recognizes and rewards excellence in business-to-business marketing communications. Bader Rutter received a total of six awards, including three Best of Division and three Awards of Professional Excellence.
