ServiceMaster Pledges $1.3 Million to Minority Entrepreneur Program

In a move to boost diversity among small business ownership, ServiceMaster is pledging $1.3 million over four years to help women and minority entrepreneurs become franchise developers.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In a move to boost diversity among small business ownership, Memphis-based ServiceMaster is pledging $1.3 million over four years to help women and minority entrepreneurs become franchise developers.

The project is connected to the corporation’s Shane Battier Franchise Scholarship program that was established last year.

The plan will provide entrepreneurs with grants to cover costs of purchasing a ServiceMaster Clean franchise, two weeks of management and technical training, a laptop computer and marketing support.

Applicants must provide $10,000 of initial working capital.
