Doug Ashbridge, president of Southern Mill Creek Products of Ohio, presented the 17th annual award at a dinner to honor Whitson and Kubala. “This award is given to the salesperson who most contributes to our progress in the industry,” Ashbridge said.
Whitson’s efforts representing Zoecon in the Florida market serviced by SMCP’s Tampa- and Plantation-based sales outlets won unanimously. Whitson is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in entomology and has more than 25 years of experience in the pest control industry, including the last four with Zoecon.
This award was designed to honor the manufacturer sales representative who closely exhibited the talents of Donald S. Kubala, a manufacturer sales rep for Velsicol, Roussell and Noram, who was well respected for his product and market knowledge.
SMCP established the award in 1989, shortly after Kubala’s death.
