ROSWELL, Ga.- A new Bor-Ram label incorporating an updated treatment pattern expands usage of the glycol-based borate termiticide, insecticide, fungicide marketed by the Sostram Corporation.
The EPA-approved label eliminates the 60 percent wooden base-plate requirement for primary subterranean termite pretreatment in residential and commercial construction. Accepted in most states, the new use pattern is still pending in Florida.
“Recent building code changes for hurricane-susceptible areas have resulted in more structures with less than 60 percent of all base-plates made of wood,” Sostram Technical Manager Dr. Joseph Burley said. “The treatment pattern on the revised Bor-Ram label accommodates structures with any combination of wooden base-plate walls and non-cellulosic wall construction. This means pest management professionals can now perform termite pretreatments on structures not previously treatable with borates.”
