ROSWELL, Ga. — Sostram Corporation has become a sponsoring partner of the EarthCraft House program, a voluntary green building effort that serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that reduce utility bills and protect the environment.
The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association developed the program through a partnership with Southface Energy Institute, government and industry leaders.
Sostram is the producer of MOLD-RAM, a surface mold and mildew prevention product applied during new construction. MOLD-RAM provides effective surface mold and mildew prevention at very low application rates, the company said. The product is sprayed on building materials such as wood, wallboard, concrete and masonry block.
Under the guidelines of the EarthCraft House Project, future applications of MOLD-RAM during construction will be approved as a green building practice eligible for EarthCraft House certification.
“Buyers of new homes are increasingly aware of mold issues and desire measures of protection,” said Sostram CEO Tim Zech. “MOLD-RAM gives builders the opportunity to be proactive by providing surface mold and mildew prevention and, at the same time, demonstrate a commitment to the buyer’s desire to protect their loved ones and their investment.”
